and then there is the day after Christmas...

The day labelled "boxing day" where I'm from. I love the day after Christmas; the day I get to eat lots of leftovers, watch movies, read a book or two and maybe hit the mall - if I dare! I hope everyone is having a family-filled, amazing holiday and getting prepped for the new year and new ideas! I came across these photo shots from onestowatch and loved them! Wishing my holiday tables were this hot!!!

My Holiday Decoration Gone Awry!

So, I have finally decided that with only four days left, I will not be getting a tree - I will be doing a few non-traditional things. Yes, yes, I know - that's not in holiday cheer but I think it's perfectly fine. I received this gorgeous ornament from a friend and I will use it, it's a must. I'm going for simplicity and less to take down come January. Hope you guys are having a magnificent holiday season!

Nacho Aguayo Spring 2012 Campaign

I know, it's not even Christmas yet but I had to go there, I had to pull this Spring collection. Actually, around these parts of Texas we don't really know what winter looks like, since it's still 80 degrees over here. And in the spirit of still feeling Spring, I wanted these pieces. I love the structured lines - very Jackie O, with all the color. The line, called "Spanish Allure" gives us the a new face Paula Folch, who fronts the spring 2012 campaign from the Madrid based label, Nacho Aguayo. The Spanish designer offers a selection of colorful prints for the new season with ladylike hemlines and silhouettes.

To Tree or Not to Tree?

So this may very well be past the date for which this question makes any sense. With only seven (7) days left before Christmas, I am still considering whether to tree or not to tree. That is - should I haul whatever left over tree there is at wherever you get a tree and get it inside, to then figure out what ornaments or decoration to use on it? Don't get me wrong, I very much love Christmas, it's one of the only holidays that has tremendous meaning, history and great sense of overwhelming"ness" for me. And with my "entire" family coming in to visit, it may just be fitting to have a tree. Or, it may be fitting to not have a tree because I will need any additional space I can spare to fit the family. By the way, here are a few trees that just me want "To Tree" Thoughts???

In The Perfectly Imperfect Home, WSJ Editor-in-Chief (and former Domino chief) Deborah Needleman lends insight into creating just the right domestic tableaux. Virginia Johnson’s illustrations complement ideas like “Spots for Books, Drinks, & Feet” or “A Bit of Quirk.” And, i am also loving these illustrations - they are gorge!

More Typography, Please!!

Since working on Koby and Kylie Co., I've realized how drawn I am to typography and vintage inspired designs. I've always had a thing for great design, stationery that's unique and colors. So naturally - I am loving these holiday cards.

Thinking About New Diggs!

So it's getting around to that time. I am in the market for a new space and the most exciting part of this news is that I get to create a space that I truly love. I pulled these inspirations because I love the white coupled with bold colors, the print and amazing arm chairs. Love this!

A Stark Contrast and Fresh Outlook

For all the design affectionados out there, this is a Friday treat. Ashley Stark, Creative Director of Stark Fabrics found her dream NYC apartment and turned it into one fresh-looking pad. With hints of gold and pops of saturated color, this apartment is grown up and rad all at the same time. I am loving the pair of 18th-century Italian chairs that flank the Damien Hirst skull print and the Christopher Makos photo and Alex Katz painting rest that so nicely rest on the original mantel; and not to talk about the tufted velvet headboard. I have seriously developed a case of eye envy!!

V to the H to the M: What do you get?

Versace for H&M! Oh my goodness, I saw a few of these pieces at a fashion preview for Spring 2012 and they are gorgeous...I hear that Houston is slated for one of  these stores - the kind that has 2 within a 2 block radius in Soho, NYC - the kind that you find a great steal that no one can tell how much you really spent. Love H&M...and definitely love the look for the Versace line...
